2024 Mustang S650 New Tech Features and Tunability

The technical features, gadgets and gizmos are essential for any new car that is released to the public. In modern times, it is no longer enough for a vehicle to look cool or fast; it has to be full of new and innovative features which don’t necessarily make the car a better performer but make it more exciting and fun. As a definition of an enthusiast ride, the 2024 Ford Mustang S650 moved along those lines and arrived full of exciting details which will entertain future owners. Here are the highlights.

2024 Ford Mustang New Tech Features

The S650 Mustang is full of improvements from bumper to bumper. First of all, there is improved overall aerodynamics with optional spoiler and front splitters designed to provide more downforce and high-speed stability. The more powerful versions will be delivered with additional radiators and differential cooling, which means that the 2024 Mustang is engineered with “spirited” driving in mind. With beefier drivetrain components and performance rubber, the 2024 Mustang, especially when equipped with V8, will be the new star of your local track day community.

In the interior, the new digital dash provides the driver with a wealth of information and customization options. Following the driving modes, the graphics on the instrument cluster changes accordingly. However, you can customize it to display the information you want, and it even has a cool easter egg. Apparently, one of the engineers in charge of the S650 project is a Foxbody owner, and he pushed the idea of display mode, which is reminiscent of late ‘ 80s/early ‘90s Mustangs.

In between the seats is a handbrake lever, but it isn’t your standard handbrake. Ford, in conjunction with world-class drift champion Vaughn Gittin Jr, reinvented this simple item and turned it into a “drift brake”. In most cases, it is just an ordinary handbrake. Still, when you are in Track mode and activate the “drift button” in your car’s settings, it causes the ABS module to hydraulically acetate the rear brakes, helping you easily pull those incredible drifts. This option is a part of the Performance Pack, which can be ordered with EcoBoost and V8 models.

We have already talked about engines, and we cannot wait to hear and drive the new, twin air box 5.0-litre V8. However, the rest of the car’s drive train is improved, and there are larger brake rotors and callipers. The steering is new with a faster rack, but the real news is a new generation of MagnaRide electronic adaptive shocks specially tuned for the 2024 Ford Mustang. This option is also part of the Performance Pack.

However, amongst all the exciting features and cool things on the new 2024 S650 Mustang, there is one that brings out the inner child in every potential Mustang owner. The 2024 Stang will have a digital key fob with numerous functions, and if you opt for a 10-speed automatic transmission, you will get the ability to rev your car from a distance.

Interestingly, the Dark Horse model will feature even more advanced drivetrain options and an optional Handling package which will have a unique spoiler with “Gurney flap”, larger sway bars, stiffer suspension and a bigger wheel and tyre combo. For most discriminating buyers, Ford is offering a carbon fibre wheel option.

The 2024 Ford Mustang Tunability

The Ford Mustang was one of the cars that created the aftermarket community and showed the masses that stock vehicles could be vastly improved with a few clever modifications. The tuning market received the outgoing S550 Mustang very well, and there were countless products available very soon. From performance chips to complete body kits and suspension components, everything is available for those cars here at MyStangMods.

Due to the fact that S650 Mustang uses the modified S550 platform and has two relatively same engines on offer as the outgoing model, we can expect high tunability potential of this model. First, since the chassis and suspension architecture is very similar, products like sway bars, suspension components, springs, shocks, coil overs and so on can easily be adapted for 2024 models.

In terms of performance modifications, we are sure that 2.3-liter EcoBoost will be easily tunable through performance chips and aftermarket cold air intake systems. Ford said that the four-cylinder in the 2024 Mustang is mostly a new engine that will take some time for tuners to adopt, but we are sure that modifications will be available soon enough. However, for V8, especially for the Dark Horse version, the only way to achieve any power gains will be through a supercharger or turbo setup. The stock engines were already mighty and high-revving units, and Ford didn’t leave much on the table.

Of course, the esthetic enhancements will follow shortly after the release; we can expect numerous bumpers, splitter, spoiler options, details, trim pieces and so on.
